The Rib from Which I Remake the World by Ed Kurtz

2.0

I had hoped for horror that'd scare, but this did not hit the right buttons for me. Besides that, I wish the twist had foreshadowing of any sort. The last third or so of the book is a jumble of jump cuts, convenient epiphanies, and gory sight gags as it winds up around to the end. Instead of allowing the reader to sit with any of the horror, the book speeds through image after image, moment after moment, losing all impact.
