Team Players by Deanna Grey
5.0
This book was by all means not perfect but boy did i eat this up and enjoy this WAYYYY more that Sunny Disposition. I’m glad the AD plot line continued into this book because I was kinda flabbergasted how abruptly it ended in the first book in the series. I loved how the AD plot intertwined with Ryn and Sam and all the hockey members too.
The girls hockey team, Ryn’s friends and their dynamic was such a joy to read, i love all the new characters and old characters and I loved all the dynamics between them. Again the representation was so good in this one and the topics covered (bullying, unfairness in women’s sports etc) was covered in such a good way. Ryn and Sam’s relationship and the development was done way better than Naomi’s and Finn’s in my opinion (still love them though they cute as hell!) and i loved the growth. Even though i’m not a smut person person per say, and yes there was a lot of sex scenes in here considering it was friends with benefits, I still liked them and how it showed the growth in their relationship throughout.
I can’t wait to read Saftey net and continue seeing the different relationships showcased. I also NEED more Eden in any book, I really hope she gets her book soon with Henrik because it seems like they have a thing. I’m just gushing over Eden so much because as a black alt/goth person myself I just see so much in her in me already and she’s already one of my new fav characters. Overall really enjoyed this book, such an improvement from the first!
