Jane Eyre
by Charlotte Brontë
Ach. Idk how to even write a review of this. I could not have gone in more blind, I didn’t even know this was a gothic book. Imagine my delight when weird ass creepy shit started happening!! I felt like a young woman reading this right after it got published.
She’s a dense book. But refreshingly so?? It’s slow and arduously picks apart emotion and thought. The reader is Jane Eyre’s companion and she treats you as such. I can’t remember the last time I got to know a main character so intimately. What do you know about my dear friend Jane Eyre!! This book is an epic and should be treated as such! Content wise, I’m a bit too much of a modern woman to be wooed by Rochester 24/7, that man does some crazy manipulative things. But my good friend Jane likes him so I’ll look at him with a bit of a kinder eye. Mostly.
