Snowblind by Ragnar Jónasson

This Icelandic crime novel has all the components to make it a riveting read; the small town, locked in by the brutal weather, full of secrets, with a couple of serious crimes for a newly qualified, young police officer to investigate. And yet, I left it slightly unsatisfied. I enjoyed the set up and I was mostly guessing about the reveals until the end. I just felt it was a bit dragged out, and the switching of the point of view sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. Some of the characters felt more fleshed out than others. There was more depth hinted at in the main characters background, but not elaborated upon. I suppose to find out more I'll have to purchase the next in the series. And there's probably just enough to make sure I probably will, as there is definitely enough to enjoy in it.
