On Sheep: Diary of a Swedish Shepherd by Axel Lindén

2.0

The quote on the front cover (from The Observer) compares this to James Herriot and Chekhov, but the reality is nowhere near the same league as either of those.
Most of the diary entries were far too mundane, typically along the lines: The sheep escaped. I found them. I mended the fence. I gave them some silage.
There are a few insightful and wryly amusing entries, but unfortunately they are too few and far between to make the book worth reading.
The cover photo of a red painted Swedish cottage is nice!
