i was lied too!

okay, maybe not, this book wasn’t bad but it wasn’t living up to the hype. maybe if/when i reread it, it will click, and hopefully it’s helped by the other two books. but!!! it wasn’t horrendous, i did enjoy parts of it!

my main gripe was the humor? i think i was just a bit turned off whenever there was a serious moment and then a character would say something and the flow was changed. i’m not really fond of characters like gideon? she’s not my type, aka the humor thing, but maybe that’s on me. there would be a serious moment and then she would make a quip and i would be like UGHHHH, you know? i’m all for jokes, but be serious. i’m not really a fan of comedy in media anyway, so maybe that’s why i didn’t enjoy it as much.

also, the world building was confusing. like i said in a reading update maybe i’m not smart enough for this book, or maybe too much was going on, however there were A LOT of characters.

tldr: basically….this book was alright……3 stars for lesbians.
