The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
5.0
AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
This was the cutest freaking book. It had me laughing, giddy, and even a little emotional. It took me on a roller coaster ride!!
I love the way Christina & Lauren made me feel everything Olive felt. From her hate to her love. How her family supported her. The connection she had with Ami and Ethan. The turmoil she went through trying to find herself and find happiness.
The UnHoneymooners was an amazing story about Olive Torres and her distaste for Ethan Thomas who also happens to be her new brother-in-law. The entire wedding party along with the bride and groom as well as all their guests got sick and Olive and Ethan were the only two to make it unscathed. Olives twin sister Ami (the bride) tells her to take the honeymoon vacation to Maui because she couldn’t go. Dane (the Groom) told his brother Ethan to take his spot. Reluctantly Olive agrees to go with Ethan, regardless of how much she hates him. AThey spent 10 full days in beautiful Maui, Hawaii.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!
The love hate between Olive and Ethan was honestly so cute. And the BANTER had me laughing and giggling throughout the whole book. But not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Olive found out that Dane was cheating on her sister Ami their entire relationship, when Ethan accidentally let it slip about an old girlfriend he had while he was with Ami. At first this really irritated me because I’m not big on the cheating tropes. BUT I didn’t mind it as much because it wasn’t happening to the main character and I usually tend to insert myself into the books I read. So thankfully it didn’t make me feel like I was cheated on. Ethan thought it was an open relationship so it didn’t strike him as off. So learning that caused so many issues between Olive and Ethan and I wanted so bad at one point to hate Ethan for not taking Olives side. But in all honesty regardless of what any of my siblings did or didn’t do I’d probably defend them to the death too! Honestly there’s nothing bad I can say about this book I loved every second of it and there isn’t one damn thing I would change!
