Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

funny informative medium-paced

3.75

A book about death that could make you smile. While the text is blunt about the nature of death and the nature of bodies in the wake of death, it never actually demeans the dead and instead gives them honor and humanity even in the wake of their sometimes absurd fates. It's funny without pushing too hard on what is or isn't appropriate and manages to cram a lot of eye opening information into the book without feeling overwhelming or too dense.

This book is a friendly hand walking you into what the "afterlife" looks like for your meat sack and I do not regret grabbing it and holding on.
