Holy crap. I don’t even know what to say. This was my second Colleen Hoover novel and I truly don’t remember even reading the description before jumping right in. I listened to this as an audiobook and it blew me away. (I would *strongly* recommend looking up trigger warnings)
The book switches from two main character perspectives and two main time frames. It made me feel tense and anxious when it was supposed to. I felt as though I was right alongside the characters. I had no idea where the story was going. At one point, I kind of guessed but I wasn’t entirely right.
This story is heavy. Probably the heaviest I’ve ever read, honestly. I definitely feel as though it took a part of me with it when it ended. I don’t think I’d ever read it again but I wouldn’t have to. This book is going to stay in my heart.
Also,
This book has a lot of sex in it. Not my cup of tea but it wasn’t intolerable.
