The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers

5.0

This book is beautifully written. It gives brutal perspective to the generations of people whose humanity has been stripped from them by Eddie people. The book is also very well paced, even with its length. It took me a long time to get through it, and some of the content is deeply troubling to read. But it’s a credit to the writing that the stories are at once both unbearable and vivid and urgent, and also also full of love and joy and resilience.
