Absolutely phenomenal!!! I love that this has an equal amount of both fantasy and romance elements! The worldbuilding and magic system were super solid, and even though it had popular fantasy concepts like elemental magic and such, it was still something completely fresh and interesting. The political intrigue was also incredible done, that is my favorite part of reading fantasy books so I was so pleasantly surprised at how well done it was!
I loved both of the main characters so much, but Naime took the cake for me! She is for surely one of the best female characters that I've read. I loved how competent and logical she was. She was super smart and you could actually see that with her actions and thoughts, as opposed to the author just telling and not showing as I've seen this happen a couple times in fantasy novels.
Definitely a hidden gem for me and I haven't read a romantasy as good as this one in a long time. I'm very excited to continue the series.
