Such a whirlwind book about disinvested, but highly lively / resilient / plentiful Appalachia. Demon’s story is one that is all too common yet still such a hard pill to swallow (even when you know that realities such as his are common… they are so often willfully ignored). I really enjoyed being so sucked into demon’s world and experiences. It’s kind of an “epic,” and makes me want to read David copperfield.
