All the Devils Are Here by Louise Penny

5.0

Where are all my Louise Penny fans??? I have been reading her books since Still Life was first released in paperback. This is a series that just gets better and better as it goes along. It is also one that you should definitely read from the beginning in order to understand all of the relationships. The first few books have a slower pace (perfect for fall reading) but the mysteries in each book are compelling at their core and Armand Gamache is one of my favorite characters of all-time.

In this installment, the Gamache family are all in Paris for the impending birth of the Gamache’s newest grandchild. After a family dinner, Gamache’s godfather is seriously injured in a hit and run and as clues begin revealing themselves about his actions leading up to this event, it is clear that something more than just an accident is happening.

As much as I love Three Pines and all of its inhabitants, being in Paris was a refreshing change of pace for this series. I could not put this one down (which I know I say about all of her books but I really mean it here!).

The worst thing about reading the latest Louise Penny? Now I have to wait until she writes the next one! Louise Penny can do no wrong and don’t try to convince me otherwise. This series is perfection.
