Endless Night
by Agatha Christie
slow-paced
The slowest of all Agatha Christie novels. There was really nothing going on until the very end of the book. But that’s because the character talks a lot of nothing about nothing and there was so much repetition. It’s written in Mike Rogers’ POV (the main character) and he’s self-described as not being a very descriptive person which I thought was funny sometimes as the pages lagged on but I wondered if it was lazy or clever writing. Sorry Queen of Mystery Christie!
However that last bit was quite shocking because I didn’t see it coming. It is a shocking and depressing ending. There was much eeriness throughout the story that made it spooky. Was it worth the whole read through though? I think not. If you would like to complete Agatha Christie’s books then it’s a trudge in the mud to get through, but it wasn’t bad just long. It’s not the first I would recommend reading. Squeeze it between two Hercule Poirot stories and I think that’ll make it easier!
