Sentient: How Animals Illuminate the Wonder of Our Human Senses by Jackie Higgins

informative inspiring lighthearted slow-paced

3.0

Very interesting and well-researched, but definitely a slower read. Provides a broadening perspective on our senses and the mechanisms behind them. Animals are always cool.
Slightly soured by some recurring ableism that frames disability in the medical model of cure; given how researched and how extensive of a Notes section is included, it was disappointing to not see any mention of disability advocacy considering how often the author refers to "unfortunate" people who sense differently.
