This was my first time reading the second book of this series. I had only ever read (and reread, and reread, and reread) the first book. This was such a pleasant surprise! I don't know how I didn't continue on with this series for this long but I am now determined to listen to every single installment!

This kept the same wonderful coziness of the first book. It follows Anne in her first year as a teacher. As a fellow teacher, I felt as if I was reading my own experiences as a first year teacher. The horrible first day jitters mixed with the love she felt for her students made it feel as if Anne was my own kindred spirit! In this installment, not only does she need to teach children at school. She is now in a similar position that Marilla was in Anne of Green Gables when a pair of twins (relatives of Marilla) come to live with them after losing their mother. Dora is a dear sweet little thing that does everything perfectly. Davy, on the other hand, seems to be a menace but a lovable one. I think Anne is drawn more to Davy because she sees a lot of herself in him. Davy immediately adores Anne and attaches himself to her hip. On top of this, Anne must help a new friend rekindle an old love while trying to pretend she does not see the advances Gilbert Blythe is making towards her.

This installment was truly beautifully written. I am so, so glad I decided to finally start the second part of this cozy, lovely, wholesome series!
