Georgana's Secret
by Arlem Hawks
REVIEW OF Georgana’s Secret by @arlemhawks
SYNOPSIS
For a young woman living in the early Nineteenth Century, Georgana's life has been nonconventional, to say the least. For the past three years, she has been living on her father's ship disguised as a ship's boy. Both daughter and father have recently been rethinking and possibly regretting the decision, however. It may be time for Georgana, known to the crew as George, to abandon the sea and enter Society as a proper young lady in search of a husband--as long as her reputation hasn't been totally ruined by the last three years.
When the qualified and charming Lieutenant Dominic Petyon joins the crew as the captain's firsthand man, he sees George's misfitting with both the sea and with the other ship's boys and decides to take him under his wing, befriending him and teaching him to defend himself. As the two spend more time together, Georgana finds herself wishing for more than a friendship founded on a falsehood. Despite her feelings, she knows she must continue the rouse and forever hide her true identity from the man that can never be hers. What would happen, after all, if he found out who she really was?
STAR RATING
5 (MILLION) stars!
BRIEF REVIEW
I LOVED this book! I loved Dominic and the adventure and the slow-burn romance and the conflict and the writing. The only complaint I have is that my laundry didn’t fold itself while I lay on my bed reading.
BRIEF CONTENT GUIDE
Clean/sweet. Some drinking and getting drunk, mostly by minor characters. Some illness and mild–moderate violence, including deaths.
