Her first book is an absolute chaotic, punch in the gut… And Girl Flesh is like if that book went to college- much more structured and nuanced. It has the same bones and general themes, but stylistically different. I could’ve read this book in a couple days, but tried to draw it out so it wouldn’t end. It’s got all the things- love, suspense, attraction, violence, and a feminist undertone. I mostly love the authors guerrilla-esque/indie writing style; much appreciated in a sea of cookie cutter books.
