I was excited to read a book about a serial killer who is a woman because I thought that finally women wouldn't be the target of hate. So why on the first page is the protagonist encouraging a four-year-old boy to inappropriately touch her best friend? Why is her target for ruining a life a racist woman and not her husband who is probably much worse? Or any man for that matter?
And then I read that she sexually assaults her victims, other women?

If I wanted to read about the violence that is exerted on women, I could just read today's newspaper.
