When We Were Widows by Annette Chavez Macias
3.0
The story is excellent. A wonderful read if you're struggling to cope with loss, anger, hurt. And an opportunity to find hope and redemption in broken or badly damaged relationships.
Even though the book deals with heavy topics we as women face, it wasn't a heavy read. Fast-paced, engaging, and a nice little twist at the end.
Accurate portrayal of how — at some point in our lives — we would benefit from spending time in a recovery group.
Very much enjoyed learning about Chicana culture. Especially the food!
