Purity by Skyler Mason

4.0

Livvy grew up in Christian purity culture. It has shaped who she is, it has caused trauma and self confidence issues. At 21 Livvy has decided to make a change, she still loves and believes in God, but she has decided that purity culture and all the toxicity that comes with it is no longer for her. She wants to experience what all “normal” college students do. She wants to get drunk, have her first kiss, lose her virginity. The only person who she wants to experience all that with is her best friend Cole. Cole & Livvy have been best friends for 5 years, she is his person, the one that makes him feel seen and safe and loved. When Livvy asks Cole to take her virginity he freaks out, he doesn’t want to do anything that could jeopardize their friendship, he would cease to exist without her. He also wants her, he wants her beneath him, he wants to own her. He’s scared of losing her but will not pass up the opportunity to finally be with her.

This was a good one. I would have liked a little more after they finally get together in the end. The epilogue wasn’t enough for me either. I will read the next, I enjoyed it.
