One of the best books I’ve ever read. Kaveh Akbar has such a wonderful writing style that is beautiful and eloquent while still being raw and direct. My thoughts are still racing so much from this book i can hardly think properly. Grief, trauma, love, loss, the past present and future, meaning and purpose in life, art and creativity - each handled fully and with grace. I’m gnawing at the bars of my enclosure rn, I need to read this again.
This might very well be a perfect book, and I do not say this lightly.
Edit: And, if it wasn’t obvious, this was a stayed-up-til-2:30am read. I couldn’t put it down. I even read it while walking down the street at night.
