Neo-mages, half-breeds (???), kylens, and demons, oh my. Seraphs that never call themselves Angels - oh except for that one who does. Oops. Are they secretly aliens? (No, really, someone speculates about that in the book...) Ice-age and ice caps but also Sun-days and sunbathing. The worst spell caster ever. (The chicken spell would have made me throw the book if I hadn't been reading on my phone.) How the heck has this woman survived up to the point where the reader meets her? She seems incapable of functioning in this world without immediately giving herself away.
Working phones but not cars or computers or...wait, some cars. But trips still have to be made by mule trains. I could have dealt with all this nonsense and still not wanted to smack Thorn with that amethyst if it hadn't been for the whole "Mage heat" idea. So so stupid. Please stop that. Now.
