I keep saying “I’m not a romance girlie” but honestlyyyy some books just stick out for me, like this one. It's one of the best romances I’ve read in a while. You know this is gonna be good from the very first chapter.

Loved the characters; Emma is such a sweetheart and so is Justin tbh. Maddy is my fav best friend! She reminded me a lot of myself lolll she’s almost just like me fr. The side characters were also memorable, but
if Amber has no haters, I must be dead.

The relationship between Emma and her mom was very well written and fleshed out.
I felt so bad for Emma, constantly waiting on her mom who would never be the person Emma always needed. It took awhile for us to know the dna test results but I understand it's bcs Emma decided to wait a little. But once we got answers, I did not expect that. It made me strongly dislike Amber even more bcs when Emma confronted her, she just acted like it was nothing.
 OHH this woman--

Justin always being there for her was so cute and sweet, I couldn’t believe he was real (maybe bcs he isn’t LMAO).
I’m so happy that their love story wasn’t toxic in any way, shape, or form. It’s still 2 adults who aren’t fully healed BUT are handling things like adults, as they should, unlike Amber 🤨

Emma’s issues were well written, from her coping mechanisms to her defence mechanisms, and she’s well aware of both. I enjoyed the friendship with Maddy a lotttt! Wished we maybe could have seen her parents as well.

All in all, a great book
