Why are Y/A novels so obsessed with offering two love interests initially, only to make the boring, more macho manly whatever the hell (Lucas), the one the main character really wants? Balthazar is way cooler. Just wish he wasn't named... Balthazar.
The way that the vampire plot is revealed is really stupid. Actually, a lot of the plot points and reveals are extremely ridiculous. There's so much about this book that I would change.
All of this being said, I did read this pretty fast and retained interest in it, so I guess it wasn't too terrible. Overall just mediocre. Might continue with the series but it's unlikely.
