From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks
4.0
“You can’t tell me you believe Marcus is guilty of murder. This is Marcus, the boy you used to love. I know he broke your heart, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve to know his own daughter.”
From the Desk of Zoe Washington is the story of a girl whose father was convicted and put in prison before she was born. When 12-year-old Zoe receives a letter from him, claiming he didn't commit the crime, she gets curious. Zoe researches his crime and if he actually could have been innocent. With the help of a neighbor and friend, Zoe unravels the secrets to her father's crime.
Overall, I really liked this book. The only thing I didn't like and made me give it 4 stars was that I felt like it ended too quickly. The ending took place several years later, and I feel like that one chapter could not sum up all of those years. I would still highly recommend this book to anyone.
