Ninth House
by Leigh Bardugo
Took me a week or so to finish. Hear me out this was average. The book picks up in the last 70 pages or so and now I have to read the second book since it left me on a cliffhanger. You can’t do that to me at 3 in the morning.
There was a lot of background info about the societies that went through one ear and out the other, more like my eyes skimmed past them bc that’s too much detail. Give me the action.
The plot twists towards the end were nice and unexpected. Some aspects were predictable but I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed what would have happened.
I also love Darlington and he’s not even the main character and is the only reason I want to read the second book. How is that even bloody possible.
It wasn’t engaging enough and I did have to force myself to read it and not DNF it multiple times but I’m glad I pushed through.
