My sister recommended me this book and I managed to pass her in our reading progress in a day. This book read so effortlessly, it was just what I was looking for after a crazy stressful few days of work. The banter between Alexa and Drew was effortless and hilarious. I loved both characters immediately (I, too, bonded over their love of cheese and crackers in that elevator).

I appreciate that the "fake relationship that got real" trope that we all knew was coming was more than just the wedding weekend. I was a little nervous when the wedding weekend wrapped up after chapter 9 and there was still so much of the book to go. We all knew the breakdown in communication was coming eventually, but it still hit so hard when it did, because they had otherwise communicated so well with each other.

Having done the weekend relationship thing myself, (though not quite in a state as large as California), I totally related to how engrossed in their weekend lives they both became. I remember those days with fond, rose-colored glasses.

I wasn't sure if I would be invested enough to read a 5-6+ book series, but now I just might! These books are a great "palate cleanser" book between book club/book slump books to get you back on the reading horse and fall in love with reading again.
