Black Clover, Vol. 2 by Yûki Tabata

5.0

This was a great second volume!

Something that I really appreciate about this series, which I failed to mention in my last review, is that Tabata gives the audience each Black Bulls member's conflict as they're introduced. Rather than draw out struggles until the big reveal several chapters down the line, Tabata lets the reader in on the inner struggles of the Black Bulls members. I honestly really like this because establishing a conflict early gives the story more time to show their struggles as well as their development. Noelle is a perfect example of this and I'm already super invested in her character because her conflict was introduced when she was and now I get to see her grow from the start.

As far as characters go, I'm still having a blast with the Black Bulls and I LOVED the teamwork sections of both missions. It's cool watching someone be a badass on their own, it's fucking EPIC watching them be badasses as a group.

I love the fights, I love the art, I love the characters/ character interactions, I just love everything. I'm so glad I gave this series a chance!
