The Inconvenient Love by Briar Prescott

5.0

“This is going to be so much fun,”

I love Briar’s writing style, her dialogues are perfect and the humour is right up in my ally. Her characters are realistic and I would love to be their friends.

However this isn’t the usual easy read by Briar, it’s still funny and I wouldn’t say it’s angsty, but the first part of the book is full of longing and hurt, and confusion.

“This kiss is not nice. Nothing about this moment is nice. Nor is it easy.”

The process of the relationship, the growing love between them is amazing. The second part is the best hotness.
And the end awwwww that was perfect!

“With Isac comes the sort of freedom I never really dreamed of before and didn’t know was missing from my life.”

Big brother’s best friend
Age gap
Supportive family and friends
Childhood crush, then time lapse
Friends to lovers
Forced proximity
Jealousy
Sparkling chemistry
Part of the series, but can read as standalone

“I don’t regret anything. I wouldn’t be who I am today if I’d stayed in Boston. And I like this version of me. I guess sometimes we end up right where we’re supposed to.”

“We’re a mess. The cottage is a mess. The bed is a mess. The two of us are a mess. A mess of trembling limbs, wrapped around each other in the middle of the bed, in a mess of sheets and pillows.”
