Honestly, I can't really say that this book as anything outside of its Australian references has any substancial grounds in the Discworld series. I'm not going to look back on The Last Continent and think, "damn, do you remember when..." because there wasn't much to remember. The first 200 pages felt so plodding, trying to set up this entire concept, that it just falls flat. I laughed, there was some good jokes, and the Pratchian wit is still in full force here as with many of his works, but the plot or the characters are just not really enjoyable.
