The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge

5.0

This was a book I read over and over again as a child. There was enchanting fantasy, a sassy and confident main character, and a cast of complex supporting characters, none of whom were entirely good or bad. Even as a girl I liked my heroes to have a bit of spice and my villains to have either some redeeming quality or at least a compelling backstory.

Looking back on it, there were some strange bits to the story, but it certainly captured my imagination.
