if you know me, you know i love animation. and one of my favourite things about it is getting to have a look "behind the scenes" as it were; following the process of something going from a small sketch, to a story-board, to the finished product. there's an infinite amount of steps, and an infinite amount of care and that is one of the things i love most about animation.

spider-man: into the spider-verse is one of my favourite animated movies of all time, with its gorgeous art style, backgrounds and character designs, and so i was beyond excited when i managed to get my hands onto the art book for the movie. packet full with developmental sketches, unused character designs, storyboards, backgrounds for the city as well as different locations such as mile's home or aunt may's living room, the whole book is a journey from beginning to end.

i loved reading about the process of making the film, though i would have loved to read more from the actual creatives behind the movie, as opposed sony executives. maybe in the next one!
