This is a slightly forbidden romance with two damaged characters who have heart wrenching stories.
Jude is an intriguing, brusque and tragic character. The h3ll he lives inside his head is so heartbreaking.
His family is pretty far out there, you might say dysfunctional, I’ll say unconventional. I think they’re fun in wacky ways, s€xy and interesting. (If you’ve read the two previous books you know.) *This can be read as a standalone, things about the family are explained well.*
The family all lives in the same neighborhood, basically their own gated community. Makes for a lot of interactions between them all.
Tate is kind, generous and living in fear. I really felt for him and his situation with an abus!ve ex who’s making his life miserable. He’s such a wonderful person.
Tate gets hired by the patriarch of the family to be their live-in therapist. See…very unconventional.
The family dynamics are intriguing and at times really heartwarming.
The tension between Tate and Jude is hot and yummy.
The story gave me all the feels, tons of s€xy times and a bit of mystery/suspense.
I really enjoyed these characters a lot. It’s a fun, hot and emotional story that is also very funny at times. I can’t wait for the next book in this series of interconnected standalone’s.
