This isn’t what I was expecting…
The premise was intriguing, like I’d get Medusa’s side of the story. But…
I’m over 100 pages in— just at part three and I’ve only had 3 Medusa chapters. She’s supposed to be our main character and I’ve only heard from her THREE times.
I’m pretty sure this story isn’t so much about Medusa as it is about rape and power.
There’s a Gorgoneion chapter right before I stopped that said “You’re probably feeling sorry for him now, aren’t you? Poor little Perseus, the reluctant hero[…]” (because he’s off to kill a Gorgon) Except I’m not, I don’t feel sorry for this guy at all because I’m on Medusa’s side because this is supposed to be her story. Instead, I feel sorry for myself for wasting my time on this.
