the first 2/3rds to 7/8ths of this book annoyed me. Like I got very close to not finishing it many times (I didn’t quit because i bought a copy of it at The Strand and I really felt obligated to read it.) I was just not in the mood for listening to a white boy whine about his lonely heart and miserable existence. But then! I really enjoyed the end of it - even before it switched over to his ex’s point of view. I still don’t know if I would include it on any top ten lists but it end up being not as maddening as the first chunk.
