Okay, I'll be honest, I didn’t read this first book in this series so I may be missing some of the background information. I have watched the movie so many times that I couldn’t read through a whole book knowing a lot of the spoilers. It would just irritate me too much. I read through a list of 'movie to book changes' and called myself qualified to read the second book in the series. The book had a really convenient prologue that summarised all I needed to know, like a refresher course. I will say that I liked that the book seems to be more diverse in terms of characters and seemed overall more logical about character limitations than the film was.

I am so glad that I read this book!

Rose is seriously a brilliant character. I love her humorous recapping in the prologue and overall I find her a realistic teenage girl character. I did think there would be more interaction with Lissa but that maybe have just been lacking in this book as part of the plot.

I love pretty much everything. The characters are very emotionally realistic and honest, which makes them very likeable, the plot was very well paced in my opinion and there was good description of the scenery. The drama was good and suspenseful.

There is seriously great character development, it feels like you are reading through the characters maturing.

SERIOUSLY GOOD! I can't wait to read more of the series.
