Light the Fire by Elizabeth Briggs

4.0

The cover for LIGHT THE FIRE immediately caught my eye and I'm so glad I saw it because I really enjoyed this one! This is a prequel novella for the HER ELEMENTAL DRAGONS series and it was a fantastic introduction to the world. I found the setting really interesting and I can't wait to learn more about the Elemental Gods and the Dragon shifters who rule over the land. The very end especially sets up the rest of the series and I'm so excited for it.

I really liked Calla and her 4 men; they were all childhood friends so there's already feelings between them but this worked for the shorter page length. Falon is sweet and quiet, he's Calla's best friend and he loves her but he's kept it a secret because of Derel. Calla has been promised to Derel since birth and they both resent it leading to a more contentious relationship even though they're attracted to each other. Roth was Calla's first and she thought they would marry until an attack leaves him badly burned and he pushes Calla away; now he's a broody loner. And last but certainly the most charming, Blane is the village bad boy with a reputation of getting into trouble.

Each man is devoted to Calla and would do anything to make her happy. They're a little unsure about sharing her at first but quickly adapt. As short as LIGHT THE FIRE is, it still manages to pack in some very sexy and hot moments.

I'm really looking forward to reading more by this author!
