yojen 's review for:
The Crossing
by Cormac McCarthy
There were times during this novel when I thought McCarthy indulged himself too much and I'd say to myself, "Well git on with it!" and then upon finishing this book I read the Vanity Fair piece, and unlike some die-hard McCarthy followers, I was not surprised he had groomed and loved a younger woman, and even less surprised that the woman would be used to enhance his fiction because isn't that often the case with all these great 20th century male writers, having some woman in the background taken for granted and used up and used for their knowledge.
