The Distant Echo by Val McDermid

4.0

I think I expected something that was a more traditional "who done it" so the structure of this book threw me a bit.

Four students come across a body one night, and in the process of the investigation become suspects though nothing is ever proved. 25 years later, the case is re-opened, and the four (whose relationships were forever tainted by their experience, are once more in the spotlight.

McDermid is a master of twists, turns, and planting new information, so as to maintain interest and keep you guessing.
