Maigret by Georges Simenon

4.0

A good one. Lots of those little Simenon moments I love, from Maigret's pissed off grumblings about his nephew, to the confused maid handing over the broomstick, to the clacking of the sugared almond against the nerve-wracked culprit's teeth in the final confrontation. The "no-one can trust anyone in gangland" stuff isn't terribly fresh, but this was still an enjoyable one to me.
