Three Mages and a Margarita by Annette Marie

3.0

Totally fine urban fantasy novel, competently written; the heroine, however, is introduced to us when she responds to an obnoxious customer as she's waitressing by continually escalating the issue until she finally hits the woman in the face with the drink tray. We're informed that she's done this sort of thing at so many restaurants around town that she's unhireable. We're supposed to be sympathetic towards her but the number of times she physically assaults someone - in a later bartending job she throws a drink at someone who's annoying her - is just boggling. We're supposed to consider her Just Every Girl Struggling To Make Her Way? A ridiculous number of secondary characters are introduced including three hot dudes who don't date girls but all seem interested in Little Old Her.

I may continue with the series but I'm going to whine about it if I do.
