I was hooked in from the sprayed edges, and the review of ‘Harry Potter meets Gilmore Girls’ and whilst an enjoyable read, it fell a bit flat for me.
I found myself slogging through it a bit in the beginning, wondering why there wasn’t more support in learning all things magical world for Vivian and Daniel, but it did pick up in the second half and I read that much quicker. I did enjoy the magical world, but it felt like the action was a bit rushed in the last third of the book.
Overall I just felt a bit meh about it, but can see that for the right person it would be a great read.
