This book was right up my alley. The romance. The tropes. The pining. The slow burn. The mystery. The stakes! I ate it all up.
There were a couple of points where the writing's grip on me loosened and the ending was maybe a tad rushed. However, in light of all the other delightful things to recommend this book I think they pale.
Additionally, abuse and marital rights are a focus of the book. At times the main character can feel a bit naive on that head. And I don't know how I feel about the sister's depiction. But again, as for how it all serves the overall storyline, the author writes it credibly enough.
