You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry

5.0

"So, Poppy, all you have to do is think back and ask yourself, when was the last time you were truly happy?"

The problem is, I don't have to think back. Not at all. I know right away when I was last truly happy. Two years ago, in Croatia, with Alex Nilsen

Claiming Poppy and Alex as my favourites of the Emily Henry trio!!!

I was kind of nervous to read this one - everyone I've seen either seemed to really love it or really not enjoy it ... but I am firmly in the LOVE IT column!

When I look at that photo, I don't remember what Alex said to me to elicit that face, or what I yelled back at him. But I feel that same rush of warmth I get when I think about any of our past summer trips.
That crush of happiness, that feeling that this is what life's about; being somewhere beautiful, with someone you love.

Poppy and Alex are so cute, I love them in every version of themselves on every holiday from past to present. I really enjoyed the way we saw the vacations before woven through with the vacation they were currently on. It's one of my favourite book structures to read.

I love him so much. I love him more than I did yesterday, and I already know tomorrow I'll love him even more, because every piece of him he gives me is another to fall in love with."

I love the journey that each of them have to go on in this book, especially Poppy's. Both characters just felt so genuine - they feel like people you've known your whole life.

"Alex ... I've never really felt alone since I met you. I don't think I'll ever truly feel alone in this world as long as you're in it."

Poppy and Alex are just so loveable - my favourite friends-to-lovers! I love their quirks and that, despite how different they may be, they love each other regardless
