This book has a great story line but fell flat in many areas. There are a lot holes in the story that you don’t get answers to and I didn’t get gothic or academia really. The characters could have been introduced randomly as a group of colleagues or friends who met another group of friends. I’ve read worse, but wish the story developed and lived up to its full potential
