This is the worst book ive read so far from this author. I just did not connect with Liam or Kira and the story felt so forced and there was no depth here at all. This book felt like a cop out and an after thought. Also have to admit im not loving this world as much as the Saints universe and her other books and i understand this is a spin off of that series but perhaps it shouldve been left at that. Not sure ill even finish this series bc again these are just not hitting as hard as they used to and the "trap" at about 80% in like no duh that was so stupid. The only thing that felt real about this book was the workplace harassment and its pretty sad when the relationship between the abuser (Finn) and the abused (Kira) felt more intense and real than Kiras relationship with Liam. Idk its like they didnt even click and tbh Kira never even pondered a life without Liam after he saved her and It felt a bit Stockholm syndrome for me but not in the slow i understand it way. Plus, towards the end the spicy scenes felt like they were there just for filler and to give the book a reason to be called a romance idk this book just did not hit for me and i know for a lot of other readers this was the case as well. Just fell so flat and Im lowkey sad bc i truly enjoy mafia books and thriller/crime/ romance but these characters needed a lot more work in order for me to feel like i didnt need to skim half the pages like I did. Time to find a new thrill for me bc I was just so glad I could mark this book as read and done
