Promchanted by Morgan Matson
3.0
This is my least favorite Matson book, just because I wasn’t into the whole Disney aspect of it, and I prefer her contemporary stories to this fantasy/magical realism story. That being said, this was still the cute, charming, and fun story I come to expect with Morgan’s books. I like how she gave Aurora and Prince Phillip their own personalities and expanded on the original movie to give it more charm. I also found Stella’s transition from technology-filled 21st century living to fourteenth century living to be quite humorous. But all in all, this wasn’t anything toooooo memorable. I mean it’s literally called Promchanted, it’s not gonna be a crazy masterpiece. But it did what it set out to do — be a fun escape and a gentle reminder of the power of believing in fairy tales. This made me want to rewatch Sleeping Beauty which I am going to do tonight.
