The Humans
by Matt Haig
What a fantastic book. The first Matt Haig book I read was The Midnight Library a couple of years ago and I forgot how much I love Matt Haig’s writing. There’s something really poetic yet simple and profound about the way he comments on the complexities/beauties of being human. It was so easy to be absorbed by the way the protagonist simultaneously analyzes and grows fond of the human experience. This book was written 10 years ago but it hits closer now more than ever given the state of the world. This book just checks all the boxes for what I could possibly want in a fiction book that uses mortality and the belief that humans are the most intelligent life form in the galaxy as the catalyst for this story.
