For All She Knows
by Jamie Beck
This story takes you on a roller coaster ride; giving you highs, lows, and in-betweens. From page one, For All She Knows by the talented Jamie Beck, book three in her Potomac Point series, grabbed me and held me hostage until I turned the last page, finishing the story. This is a story of two mothers, different in all ways possible, from their own upbringings to the choices they make in how they raise their own children; based on their own upbringing. It is also about their friendship, their families, and the ability to forgive when an accident tears these two friends apart. What follows is a story of hurt, questions, the possible end of a friendship, and the people of Potomac Point divided, with everyone taking sides; whether their assumptions are correct or not. The adults involved suffer under the weight of blame for decisions made, causing one family to be in upheaval, their solid marriage crumbling by blaming themselves, unable to forgive anyone, as well as the effect from past mistakes. There’s also the fallout on the single mother, her business, and possibly her current custody agreement; especially when she a second chance at love affects those involved. There’s also the hospitalization, treatment and physical therapy needed by the injured son as he tries to recover, the immense expenses not covered by insurance, accusations, accountability litigation, and everyone taking sides. With their lives falling apart, the former friends stand to lose everything they love unless they learn to forgive; both themselves and each other. You will need to keep tissues nearby while reading this story.
Ms. Beck writes to the soul; the soul of her characters as well the soul of her readers. This wonderful and amazing story was emotional, moving, tear inducing, filled with wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters that is must read. I highly recommend For All She Knows to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
